I. Working principle
There are two platinum pieces on the glass base built into the conductivity electrode. The position and distance of the platinum pieces are fixed. When the electrode is inserted into a certain liquid or conductive fluid, the sensor passes the current between the two platinum pieces. to measure the electrical conductivity of the solution. Adding a potential difference between the two platinum electrodes, the resulting current is proportional to the conductivity of the solution. The sensor converts this current signal into a voltage signal, and converts it into a 0-5V voltage output through the analog-to-digital converter of the data logger. The results are stored in the datalogger’s memory
Since current is transmitted through ions in the solution, the higher the ion concentration, the stronger the conductivity of the solution, so the conductivity sensor can actually be used to measure the ion concentration in the solution.

IV.Typical applications
Conductivity sensors can be used in the field or in the laboratory to measure the conductivity of a solution or the total ion concentration in a solution. It cannot measure the types of ions in the solution, but it can quickly determine the total concentration of all ions. Its typical applications include studying the conductivity of different solutions, environmental research, monitoring water purity, studying the effect of chemical condensation on conductivity, etc.

VI.Usage Tips
- Rinse the top of the sensor electrode with distilled water before use.
- When inserting the top of the sensor into the sample solution to be measured, make sure that the electrode is completely immersed in the liquid.
- After using the sensor, rinse the electrode with distilled water and dry it with paper towels or laboratory cloth before storing it. When drying, care should be taken to avoid scratching the internal surface of the sensor electrode.
- Lipids, oils, fingerprints and other substances attached to the electrodes can cause incorrect measurements and instability of the response.
- If there is dirt on the surface of the sensor probe, soak it in water with flexible detergent for 15 minutes, then soak it in dilute acid solution (preferably 0.1 M hydrochloric acid or 0.5 M acetic acid) for 15 minutes, and then use Rinse with distilled water.
- It is best to soak the probe in deionized water for storage. Any probe that is stored dry should be soaked in deionized water for 5-10 minutes before use.
- The probe of the conductivity sensor is made of glass and is fragile, so it needs to be placed with care.
- Operating temperature range of conductivity sensor probe: 0-80℃.
- Response time: 98% of readings completed within 10 seconds.
- The service life of the conductivity probe is: 1 year.
- The pH sensor and temperature sensor cannot be connected to the same data collector and put into the same solution as the conductivity sensor at the same time (the reason is: the conductivity sensor will generate an output signal in the solution, and this signal may affect other sensors) .
